TOPEKA — Safe Kids Kansas will present its annual awards today in Topeka. This year’s Cooley Award will be presented to Elena Nuss of the Kansas state fire marshal’s office. Nuss has been a member of Safe Kids Kansas and has been co-chair of the Fire-Burn and Poison committee. The Olathe Fire Department and the Kansas Sports Concussion Partnership will receive the Outstanding Partnership for Child Safety Award. Olathe Fire Department Capt. Mike Hall will receive the Service Recognition Award. The group kidsandcars.org will receive the Outstanding Coalition Organization Award.
