GARNETT — Garnett city officials are looking for grants and donations to help pay for new welcome and way-finding signs around Garnett. The Anderson County Review reported that city manager Joyce Martin recently presented city commissioners with a plan that outlines potential costs, possible options to help finance the signs as well as a proposed time schedule, although the money isn’t immediately available. Her proposal includes at least five way-finding signs that direct people to key destinations, such as the parks, government facilities and other points of interest. The city commission has discussed the signs as part of a marketing campaign to draw more visitors, and new residents and businesses to the community.
