OTTAWA — Most of the KOFO listening area has been placed under a red flag warning this afternoon until 6 p.m. this evening. The National Weather Service office in Topeka placed Franklin, Osage, Anderson, Douglas and Coffey counties, and much of northeast, north central and east central Kansas under the red flag warning because dry conditions, high winds and low humidity pose a critical fire danger. The weather service said fires will start easily and spread quickly, making them very difficult to control.
