OTTAWA — A 62-year-old Ottawa man reported to the Franklin County Sheriff’s office Friday that thieves tried to cut the copper tubing from the back of an air conditioner unit at his house in the 2300 block of Nebraska Road southeast of Ottawa. The man reported his unit was so damaged that he had to replace the whole unit. The damage was estimated at $3,000.
