OTTAWA — Despite some rain and snow in recent weeks, the drought grinds on and gets more serious all the time. That fact was clearly on the minds of Ottawa city commissioners Thursday during a special meeting. “Go by Pomona Lake and it’s very, very low,” said Commissioner Gene Ramsey, noting the state’s efforts to require water conservation. Ottawa’s water supply situation is better than many localities, utilities director Jim Bradley said. The city has contracts for water from Pomona and Melvern lakes, he said. Bradley said he’s also reviewing the city’s water conservation plan.
