A 39-year old Ottawa man was arrested in connection with the accidental shooting of a four year old boy yesterday afternoon. Brian Keith Bruno was arrested for Aggravated Endangerment of a Child and Endangerment and Criminal Discharge of a Firearm. He is being held in the Franklin County Adult Detention Center pending a formal court appearance. Officers from the Ottawa Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1100 block of North Oak at 12:29 yesterday afternoon for a report of an accidental shooting of a four year old. The child was treated at the scene, then transported by ambulance to Children’s Mercy Hospital. The case remains under investigation.
