OTTAWA — Neosho County Community College recently picked a couple of highly-regarded national honors. The college has the 14th-fastest growing enrollment in the nation for schools of its size. The college is also 31st on CNN’s money list of 1,200 community colleges in student success and completion of degrees. Neosho president Brian Inbody said the new Ottawa campus is a key element in getting those honors. The campus’ simulated hospital has been a major factor in the fast growth of the nursing program, he said. The hospital’s simulations and robots give students a realistic and terrifying, but safe, experience in dealing with life-or-death situations, he said. Simulations are videotaped and critiqued by fellow nursing students, which also teaches those students, he said. Inbody was a speaker at the First Friday event in Ottawa.
