OTTAWA — A Burlington Northern Santa Fe train smashed into a large pickup stalled on the railroad crossing near Osborne Terrace and Louisiana Terrace Saturday evening. Rocky Woods, 60, Ottawa, was driving north on Louisiana Terrace when his 2002 Ford F-350 pickup stalled on the railroad crossing, the Franklin County Sheriff’s office said. Woods began walking to a neighbor’s house to get help, the sheriff’s office said. However, in the meantime, a southbound train hit the truck. The two-man train crew wasn’t injured. The truck was destroyed.
