PAOLA — Miami County voters will see a proposal for a quarter-cent sales tax increase for a new Miami County jail on the April 2 ballot. The Miami County Republic reported that the county commission unanimously voted last week to put the sales tax increase on the April ballot and to start looking for potential sites for a new jail. The county has needed to build a new jail because of overcrowding and safety issues, Commission Chair Ron Stiles said.
