BALDWIN CITY — Baldwin City will apply for a grant for the city’s historic Santa Fe Railroad depot. The Baldwin City Signal reported the city council voted to submit a grant application to the Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization. That group could forward the application to the Kansas Department of Transportation. As submitted, the grant would provide 80 percent of the money needed for about $298,000 in improvements at the city-owned depot.
