GARNETT — Greg Gwin has filed for re-election for his city commission seat. Gwin has been Garnett mayor, which is a largely ceremonial position, this year. The Anderson County Review reported his filing is one of few in the county with a week before the filing deadline. No one else has filed for the city commission seat. In other cities, in Kincaid, Leonard Leadstrom filed for mayor and Carolyn Whitcomb filed for city council. Howard Ludlum filed for Lone Elm mayor. Neal Wallace filed for Colony mayor. As of Monday morning, no one had filed for seats in the two school districts in Anderson County, the paper reported. The deadline is noon Jan. 22.
