PAOLA — Miami County Connect Kansas will hold a town hall meeting tonight at 6:30 at the Miami County Extension office in Paola on starting a walking and bicycling school bus for Paola school children. The group is looking for volunteers and wants to work out details, said Miami County Extension’s Diane Burnett, who is a member of the group. The school bus concept is a school safety program is being used in several cities across the country, she said. In the “school buses,” adults and parents accompany clusters of children walking or riding bicycles across the city to and from school, she said.
