POMONA — A fire destroyed a house in the 1300 block of Labette Road near the Greenwood Community Center southeast of Pomona Saturday morning. It appears no one was at home when the fire occurred, said Franklin County Master Deputy Jerrod Fredricks. A mobile home was behind the house on the same property and someone in the mobile home saw the fire and reported it, he said. The house was destroyed, he said. There was no immediate damage estimate. The cause of the fire remained under investigation, he said.
