Garnett city leaders will hear from the city’s new cable television company at Tuesday’s City Commission meeting at 6:00 at Garnett City Hall. A representative from BCI Broadband will discuss the company’s plans and answer questions. BCI is buying Allegiance Communications, which is Garnett’s present cable TV company. The Anderson County Review reports that the city receives 3% of revenue as part of the franchise agreement, which amounted to a little more than $10,000 last year. The agreement won’t mean any significant changes for the city. BCI has announced plans to provide high-speed internet and make system upgrades. The paper reports Allegiance has come under fire in recent years because of problems with channels and poor customer service.
