BALDWIN- Baker University President Pat Long will retire next year.  She has served as university president since July 1, 2006.  Long is the first woman to be bBaker’s president since its founding in 1858.  During her tenure, Baker has developed several new academic offerings and expanded satellite campuses across Kansas and Missouri, as well as the opening of the $6.3 million new living center, the first new residence hall in nearly 50 years, renovation of Denious Hall and helped complete the $11.3 million Ivan L. Boyd Center for Collaborative Science Education, the largest capital project in the university’s history.  Baker’s Board of Trustees will begin a national search for the next president in the near future.
