HUMANSVILLE, Mo. — An 82-year-old Ottawa woman was killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash in southwest Missouri. Ramah Swank, Ottawa, was pronounced dead by the Polk County, Mo., coroner at the crash scene in Humansville, Mo., the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Web site said. Her husband, Roye Edgar Swank, 86, was driving a pickup south on Missouri Highway 13 when a van driven by old Ralph Williams, 79, Flemington, Mo., pulled in front of the Swanks’ pickup in an attempt to cross the southbound lanes of Missouri 13. Williams failed to yield the right of way, state trooper said. The Swanks’ truck broadsided Williams’ van. Roye Swank was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Mo., for what state troopers described as serious injuries. Williams was taken to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Mo., for serious injuries.
A passenger in Williams’ van, Mary Schwartz, 36, Flemington; was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. Troopers said Ramah Swank was wearing a seatbelt but Roye Swank was not.
