TOPEKA — The state has asked several counties to do preliminary damage assessments of the costs of the severe winter storms that struck the state in February. The assessments will gather data to determine if any of the counties will be eligible to receive federal reimbursements for disaster-related expenses. Among those counties doing the assessments include Franklin, Miami, Osage and Douglas counties.
