EDGERTON –The closing of the northbound lanes of I-35 originally scheduled for Friday night has been postponed. The Kansas Department of Transportation said because of delivery delays for some materials, the closure has been pushed back to Monday night. All lanes of northbound I-35 between K-33 at Wellsville and 175th street at Gardner will be closed for bridge construction work Monday night at to Tuesday morning at 5, weather permitting. KDOT said the northbound lanes will be closed to allow a contractor to set girders for a new homestead lane bridge. Advance message boards will alert drivers to the road closure. Traffic will be detoured north to US 56. Drivers should expect delays and must plan to use alternate routes during the closure.
