OTTAWA — Franklin County will mail certified value notices for real estate Friday.  County Appraiser Phillip Dudley said the notices should arrive in mailboxes on Monday or Tuesday.   If property owners do not receive a notice by the end of next week, they should call his office, he said.  Dudley said there are little more than 14,000 notices being mailed.  Property owners have 30 days in which to file an informal appeal if they disagree with the value placed upon their property. The deadline to file for an informal appeal at the local level is Monday, April 15.  Hearings will begin Monday, April 8, and can be scheduled by contacting the Appraiser’s Office at 229-3480.  The parcel search website will display 2013 values and property information beginning Monday at the web site www.franklin.kansasgis.com. Go to the brown navigation bar and click “parcel search”. Properties can be searched by address, owner’s name, or parcel number.
