TOPEKA — The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved a series of bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects in Kansas.  In Franklin County, a Cedar Vale company will install a cantilever sign structure just west of the south junction of I‑35 and US 59.  KDOT awarded three contracts in Douglas County.  Two bridges on US 56 will be replaced, one over the  middle fork of Tauy Creek Bridge three miles east of US 59, and the other over the east fork of Tauy Creek about four miles east of US 59.  There will be about a half-mile of grading and surfacing work along US 56 between East 1600 Road and Bullpup Drive.  Killough Construction of Ottawa has received a $315,000 contract to replace a bridge about four miles east of Madison.
