WELLSVILLE — A 40-year-old Texas woman was injured in a semi-truck accident Monday night on K-33 just north of Wellsville in Douglas County. Stephen Martin, 44, San Antonio, Texas, was driving a semi-truck north on K-33 and got on the shoulder and lost control of it, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. The truck went off the road and crashed into the ditch. Michelle Shannon, Watauga, Texas, was riding in the truck and was injured. She was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She wasn’t wearing a seat belt, the highway patrol said. Martin wasn’t injured. He was wearing a seat belt.
