TOPEKA — The Central Heights Elementary School library has received a $275 book grant from the Kansas Book Festival. The grant was one of 16 announced by Kansas First Lady Mary Brownback Tuesday at the Statehouse in Topeka. “The Kansas Book Festival works year round to promote literacy and encourage a life-long love of reading,” Brownback said. “These grants will help preserve and improve local and school libraries across the state.” This year’s Kansas Book Festival will be Sept. 7 at the Kansas State Capitol.
