Central Heights USD 288 will ask district voters to approve a $1.75 million bond issue proposal. The bond issue would be used to replace the roof on the original round school building, replace bleachers and make other improvements in the gymnasium, replace kitchen appliances, a new band room and a locker room facility at the Bud Schaub Sports Complex. Central Heights Superintendent Jim White says the Board opted for a bond issue because the state will pay 46% of the costs of the project. White says with the state aid, the bond issue would add three mills to the property tax levy for 14 years. The Board opted for a mail ballot, with the deadline of June 4.
