OSAWATOMIE — A 38-year-old Osawatomie woman pleaded guilty today to multiple charges related to Medicaid fraud.  Kerrie Goodell pleaded guilty to making a false claim to the Medicaid program, theft, conspiracy to make a false claim to the Medicaid program and forgery, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.  Goodell agreed to pay more than $13,000 in restitution to the Kansas Medicaid program.  Goodell was accused of helping her boyfriend, Christopher Matthiesen, in a scheme to defraud the Kansas Medicaid program, Schmidt said.  Matthiesen obtained a false Social Security card and student identification card and used those documents to create a new identity as a personal care attendant, he said.  He then submitted time sheets to the Kansas Medicaid program claiming hours of service were provided by the fake personal care attendant, Schmidt said.  Matthiesen was convicted by a jury in October for his role.  Goodell will be sentenced in Miami County District Court June 6.
