APPANOOSE — Firefighters were called to a structure fire in the 4600 block of Arkansas Road northwest of Appanoose early Sunday morning. A fire started in a chimney flue, but caused minimal damage to the residence, said Assistant Pomona Fire Chief Alan Radcliffe. The toughest part of the fire was driving through the snow storm to get to the site, Radcliffe said.
