OTTAWA — A line has been drawn in the sand, or in this case, the dirt on Ottawa’s baseball fields. At Monday’s city commission study session, Steve Queen of the Ottawa American Legion Baseball Committee complained to city commission that the Ottawa Recreation Commission has suddenly decided to increase the $700 annual fee they pay for use of the Orlis Cox complex to $2,500. The action came after the committee already nearly finalized its plans for the season. Queen said his committee won’t pay the fee. Commissioners promised to look more into the matter.
