OTTAWA — The Ottawa Recreation Commission has decided on a new age policy. Beginning May 1, children must be at least 12 years of age or in the 6th grade in order to be dropped off at an ORC facility or the Forest Park Pool without supervision. However, the age requirement doesn’t apply to ORC-sponsored programs and activities that require enrollment. Youths not meeting either the age or grade requirement must be accompanied by a guardian 16 years of age or older.
