OTTAWA — A 35-year-old Ottawa woman foiled a robbery on her front doorstep late Friday night in the 100 block of West Ninth Street. Someone grabbed the woman as she walked towards her door, Ottawa Police Capt. Adam Weingartner said. He said the man appeared to be after her keys and that he may have wanted her vehicle. Weingartner said the woman fought off the man and immediately called police. Police are seeking information from any one might know anything about the crime. Such crimes are rare for Ottawa but the case illustrates the need to be vigilant, Weingartner said.
