OTTAWA — This year’s Farmer’s Market is seeking to capitalize on the growing demand for locally-grown food by trying some new things.  Market Manager Mike Gerhardt said the market will offer some new vendors and new items, including Dandelion Jelly.  The group is also considering other strategies, especially for attracting those younger buyers who want locally-produced food, he said.  The Farmer’s Market kicked off its summer and fall run Wednesday afternoon in the southeast corner of Orscheln’s parking lot.  The Farmer’s Market will run Wednesday afternoons from 4 to 6 and Saturday mornings from 8 to noon, through the last week of October.
