OTTAWA — The third and final candidate for Superintendent of the Ottawa schools met the public and told the School Board why he should get the job. Dr. Don Haack is currently Superintendent in Spooner, Wisc. He says in touring the Ottawa schools, a couple of issues jump out at him, including a better long-range plan for the district, such as bringing the public into the process of writing one and communicating that to the public, and the need to hire a curriculum director. Haack said he’s a good communicator, and likes hearing other people’s ideas. Haack said he applied for the Ottawa position because he has family in this area.
