LINN COUNTY — A 66-year-old Pittsburg man was killed in Linn County three miles north of Pleasanton Monday morning when his car hit the trailer of a semi-truck. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Riaz Baqir was driving south on US 69 and veered off to the left shoulder, hit a delineator post and over corrected. His car then crossed over the south-bound lanes of traffic, went through the median and struck the trailer of a north-bound truck driven by 54-year-old Mark Nadeau of Mesquite, Texas. His car bounced off and went east into a pond. The Highway Patrol said Baqir was wearing a seat belt. Nadeau wasn’t injured.
