WICHITA — About 26 tornadoes struck Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Illinois Sunday and early this morning. Storm damage included at least one person dead, destroyed homes, knocked down power lines, and hundreds of large trees damaged. A 79-year-old man was killed Sunday in Shawnee, Okla., ABC reported. Dozens were injured by the storms. This afternoon, a monstrous tornado was ravaging the Oklahoma City area for a second straight day. There was no immediate word on injuries from this afternoon’s storm. Homes, vehicles and businesses were damaged by winds and hail been driven nearly horizontal in Wichita Sunday. Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards said his office didn’t receive any reports of significant damage Sunday night or this morning.
