KANSAS CITY — They’re hoping to keep them down on the farm after they’ve see gay KC. The Kansas Farmers Union is hosting a trip to Kansas City on June 7, where farmers will tour the U.S. Department of Aagriculture’s GIPSA National Grain Center, the Kansas City Board of Trade and the Environmental Protection Agency’s Region 7 Science and Technology Center. The grain center is responsible for the nation’s elevator scale calibrations, and for matching u-s scales to international scales for international trade, KFU president Donn Teske said. The tour of the Kansas City exchange may be one of the last ones. CME Group bought the Kansas City exchange for $126 million and plans to close the Kansas City Board of Trade and expand futures offerings in wheat on its Chicago trading floor July 1.
