OTTAWA — The hot pace of mail ballots coming into County Clerk Janet Paddock’s office has cooled off. Voters in the West Franklin and Central Heights school districts are deciding bond issue proposals. She said after the first flood, the number of ballots tapered off. About 1,500 voters in West Franklin have returned ballots and Central Heights voters and sent back slightly more than 800 ballots. Paddock’s office mailed about 5,500 mail ballots to voters in both school districts. Paddock said she hopes the number of ballots coming back into her office will pick up now that the Memorial Day holiday is over. The deadline to return mail ballots is noon Tuesday.
