OTTAWA — If you’re a voter in the either the West Franklin USD 287 or Central Heights USD 288 school districts, today is the deadline to turn in your mail ballots. It’s too late to mail the ballot back; you will have to bring it to the Franklin County clerk’s office at the courthouse today no later than 7 p.m.. The clerk’s office will begin the final count shortly after 5 tonight. West Franklin’s bond proposal is for $14.8 million and would build a consolidated school at Pomona and close schools in Appanoose and Williamsburg. Central Heights’ bond proposal is for $1.87 million and would replace the round roof on the original school building, replace bleachers and make other improvements in the gymnasium, build a new band room and a locker room facility.
