OTTAWA — Retired business owner and former Ottawa school board member and Franklin County commissioner Donald Waymire, 84, died Tuesday at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He owned grocery stores in the Ottawa area with his father Ole Waymire and brother Chuck Waymire. He retired from the grocery business in 1993 after 46 years. He served eight years on the Ottawa school board and eight years as a Franklin County commissioner. His grandson Colt Waymire now holds the county commission seat he once held. A memorial service will be Friday morning at 10 at Dengel & Son Mortuary.
