ST. LOUIS — Just days after getting smashed by tornados, people in Missouri near St. Louis are dealing with flash floods and flooding along the Mississippi and Missouri rivers this week. About 300 people were evacuated in West Alton, Mo., after a levee broke Monday night, ABC News reported. More people in West Alton were evacuated after a second levee broke Tuesday, and ABC reported a third was on the verge of breaking today. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported rivers in the area are running as high as they have been in 20 years. Volunteers and state and federal officials have spent the this week sandbagging danger spots, the paper said.
