GARDNER — A stone house built by one of Gardner’s founding fathers has been demolished.  The news web site Gardner Edge reports the 140-year-old house on 191st Street was knocked down to make way for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Intermodal Logistics Park.  The last occupant, Linda Rothwelltells the edge that the house was built by John Pearce, one of the founders of Gardner’s town company.  She says Pearce was from England  and wanted to build a house that resembled the houses in the English village he came from.
