OTTAWA — The murder trial of 28-year-old Kyle Flack won’t happen until the middle of next year. Flack is charged with two counts of capital murder, four counts of first-degree murder, one count of rape, and one count of criminal possession of a firearm in connection with the killings of Andrew Stout, Steven White, Kaylie Bailey, and her 18-month-old daughter Lana Bailey. During a hearing in Franklin County District Court this afternoon, District Judge Thomas Sachse, prosecutors and Flack’s attorneys worked out a schedule of hearings in the run-up to the trial. The preliminary hearing, which is the last major hearing before a trial, was set for Feb. 24 and 25. Sachse also denied requests by prosecutors to close most pre-trial motions, saying he would rule on them on an individual basis.
