ANDERSON COUNTY — Anderson County Commissioners are looking into the county’s zoning laws to see how they can force the owners of a burned-out former restaurant to clean up the property. The former business in Welda was once a diner and steakhouse, but in February, it was destroyed by fire. Welda resident Robert Staadt bought the business two years ago and the buildings have been used mostly for storage since. Staadt has been asked by the Anderson County Attorney to clean up the eyesore. However, the County Attorney is trying to get clarification on what the zoning laws are before proceeding.
