OTTAWA — July 30 is party night, and the Ottawa Volunteer Center wants the party in your front yard, and police and city officials want to come to it – and not as part of a raid.  Ottawa’s 3rd annual National Night Out will be Tuesday, July 30.  The purpose of the event is to bring neighbors together, and increase a sense of community and safety throughout the various neighborhoods of Ottawa.   Volunteer hosts are needed to open their yard and or home to neighbors, and plan a potluck or buy a couple of watermelons.  Register your get-together with volunteers with police coordinator Ron Hughes.   By registering you can count on a visit from city officials, McGruff, and members of Ottawa Police and Fire Departments and Franklin County Sheriff’s Department during your event.  For party ideas or for more information email him at [email protected] or call 242-2561.
