OTTAWA — July 30 is party night, and the Ottawa Volunteer Center wants the party in your front yard, and police and city officials want to come to it – and not as part of a raid. Ottawa’s 3rd annual National Night Out will be Tuesday, July 30. The purpose of the event is to bring neighbors together, and increase a sense of community and safety throughout the various neighborhoods of Ottawa. Volunteer hosts are needed to open their yard and or home to neighbors, and plan a potluck or buy a couple of watermelons. Register your get-together with volunteers with police coordinator Ron Hughes. By registering you can count on a visit from city officials, McGruff, and members of Ottawa Police and Fire Departments and Franklin County Sheriff’s Department during your event.
