WASHINGTON — Intense heat continues to bake from the midwest to the northeast. The heat is also moving up in this area. Highs in Franklin County have been moving up into the mid-90s this week, with predicted highs to top out Friday afternoon. Experts say you should be drinking more water and keeping an eye for symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. “You’re talking about things that start with headache, you might have fatigue or lethargy, dry tongue and then dark urine or decreased urine output,” said Dr. Jennifer Ashton, ABC News medical expert. Heat stroke symptoms include hot, dry skin; no sweating and hallucinations. Heat stroke is a medical emergency that must be dealt with immediately. Dehydration can happen to anybody – not just people who work outside, she said.
