OTTAWA — An Ottawa man who was charged in connection with the accidental shooting of a 4-year-old Ottawa boy in December will be back in court next Tuesday. Brian Bruno has waived a preliminary hearing on charges with aggravated battery, aggravated child endangerment and child endangerment in connection with the shooting.
Bruno will be arraigned on the charges. An arraignment is the last significant court hearing before the matter goes to trial. Bruno was showing a handgun to someone else and pulled the trigger, thinking the gun was unloaded, Ottawa police said. The gun went off, wounding the boy in the leg while he was sitting on the floor of a home in north Ottawa.
