OTTAWA — An Ottawa man who last spring was acquitted of rape but had a hung jury on two other serious charges is to be put back on trial next week. Eric Scrutchfield was acquitted of rape and lewd and lascivious behavior last March. But Scrutchfield will be re-tried on charges of indecent liberties with a child and aggravated criminal sodomy starting Monday. He was accused of molesting a young girl at his wife’s daycare center in 2011.
