OTTAWA – The East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Copororation, more commonly known as ECKAN, has received a nearly 79-thousand dollar grant from the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation. The money will be used to provide low-income people with oral health care services as well as education to improve nutrition practices. As part of the learning and evaluation process, participants will be provided a $25 grocery voucher for attending nutrition classes, and a $50 voucher if they choose to participate in a “follow up” activity to evaluate what individuals have learned. Franklin, Douglas, Osage, and Anderson counties are part of the ECKAN service area.
