OTTAWA – Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has declared a state of disaster emergency for 62 counties affected by severe storms, flooding, and flash floods that started in late July. The declaration activates the disaster response and recovery portions of the Kansas response plan, authorizing state resources and funds to expedite emergency assistance statewide. some of the local counties included in the state of disaster emergency are Allen, Coffey, and Linn counties. In announcing the declaration, Brownback says there is vital infrastructure that needs to be repaired as quickly as possible so everyone can get back to business as usual.
