TOPEKA — The Governor’s Conference on the Future of Water in Kansas will be hosted by the Kansas Water Office on Oct. 24-25 at the Hilton Garden Inn & Conference Center in Manhattan. Among the speakers, Charles Fishman, author of the bestselling book “The Big Thirst;” Pat Mulroy, the controversial and politically-powerful head of the Las Vegas Valley Water District; and Dr. James Stack, director of the Great Plains Diagnostic Network and Kansas State University professor. Topics include drought resiliency and conservation, the value of water, and meeting Kansas water needs. Government and business leaders, and the public are invited.
