OTTAWA – The Ottawa City Commission has unanimously approved a new agreement in the operation of the Franklin County Joint Communications Center. The overhauled plan calls for the city to reduce its share of personnel costs by two percent every year for five years. Right now, the City of Ottawa pays 52 percent of the personnel costs, but eventually, it would pay 40 percent. The plan also calls for a review every five years and establishes an advisory committee made up of city and county emergency service entities. The new agreement also holds the City of Ottawa harmless if there are lawsuits against 911 dispatch.
