OTTAWA–You soon may no longer have to carry proof of car insurance in your glove pocket…as long as you have it on your cell phone. During the Ottawa Commission Study Session, Police Chief Dennis Butler cited changes in state law that allow drivers to show police officers electronic proof of insurance on their cell phone, PDA, Tablet or any electronic device that can accommodate the information.
