OSAGE CITY — A resurfacing project along U.S. 56 between the K-31 junction in Osage County and the Lyon-Morris county line has been postponed one week. The resurfacing project, in which about 28 miles of U.S. 56 will be repaved will begin Tuesday, Sept. 3, weather permitting, and continue through mid-September, the Kansas Department of Transportation said. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in several one-mile segments at a time and traffic will be directed through the work zone by channelizers and flaggers.  There will also be a 12-foot lane width restriction. Work will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with some occasional Saturday work, KDOT said.
